Miss Teen World Pageant
The Miss Teen World Pageant is a pageant process for teenage girls that provides a youth division of its namesake, Miss World.
History
Miss Teen World began in 2003 with thoughts of running an International Pageant for Teens. The Miss Teen World name was filed in October of 2004, and the governing organisation is currently undertaking a n international search for contestants from around the world. The first competition will be held in 2008 in Texas.
Competition
Contestants entering the competition must be female, under 19 years of age by the competition year, never been pregnant or a mother, of good moral character (including never having posed in [...] or semi-[...] photographs) and resides in the state/country she is representing.
Judging is undertaken in four categories, all of which Contribute equally to the final score and three of which will act as elimination rounds. The general category, incorporating beauty, poise and presence, follows the contestants through the rounds and contributes to the final score. The first round is an initial interview, demonstrating confidence and interpersonal skills. The top 15 contestants will then proceed to the swimsuit round, in which general body shape and proportions are judged. 10 contestants will proceed to the evening gown round, where contestants are required to demonstrate both confidence and a youthful appearance. Five contestants will then answer a final question, contributing to the beauty, poise and presence category, which has followed contestants throughout the competition and will determine the overall winner.
Two NiGHTS are expected to be held, a Semi Finalist Night with the top 15 contestants and a Final Scoring Night with the top 5 contestants.
