Mila Beck

Mila Beck (born July 16, 1965) is a German film director. She was born in Kamp-Lintfort, near Cologne, Germany, where she grew up. After graduating school, voluntary work and study at the Akademie für Publizistik (Academy for Publishing) in Hamburg, she worked as a journalist for newspapers, magazines, and TV broadcasters (e.g. ‘Sport-Bild’, ‘Die Welt’, ‘NDR’, ‘Radio Bremen’, ‘Tele 5’, ‘ARD’, ‘ZDF’, ‘RTL’, SAT1’, ‘PRO 7’ ).

In 1991, Mila Beck was discovered by a producer and has since worked as a director. In the following years, Mila has filmed more than 100 episodes of various TV series, short films and commercials. From 2005 to 2008 she was owner of the Spanish film and TV production company diosmio! productions. She has lived and worked in Spain since 2004. In 2009 she founded the film production company Mikon Pictures in Venice, California. Mila Beck and her business parter Konnie Ziegler invented the Filmloge, a new financing tool for Independent Films. Besides the film industry Mila Beck is renowned on Mallorca, in Germany and in Austria for the successful stage production "Jealousy".

Personal life

From 1990 to 2000 Mila Beck was married to German director Axel Barth. They have a son, Steven Barth (born February 2, 1991). After the divorce, Mila Beck raised her son as a single mom. At the moment she lives with her two dogs and her cat on the Balearic Islands and in Los Angeles.
