Mikkel Clausen
Danish documentary filmmaker.
graduated from Danish School of Journalism) in 2004.
Mikkel Clausen (born 1975), usually referred to as Clausen, is among the leading new filmmakers and charlatans from Denmark.
Clausen's career started in radio, where he did numerous productions for the Danish Broadcasting Corporation, whereas many achieved great acknowledgements.
In 2004 he joined the youth show Rundfunk on Tv2 Denmark, which proved to be among the most important shows in Danish television of the decade as it quickly became a major factor in finding and developing new talents in the business.
However little known in public Clausen holds a position of high status and professional respect within the field of journalism.
He is especially known for his rare talent as an interviewer and dramaturgist, which make up the core of his current work, including major roles in the two international successes: the Prix Italia award-winning The Healing (Helbredelsen), and Sarajevo Pacified (by fellow Danish filmmaker Andreas Monies Bøggild), both for the Danish Broadcasting Corporation in 2007.
His style is very intense, often combining the visuals of both documentary and feature films along with his talent for giving space for common people's personal stories.
Based in Copenhagen, Denmark, his activities are never limited to one place, as he travels the world with his work on a regular basis.
Today he still makes radio features along with his extensive production in documentaries.
