Miguel Bonneville

Miguel Bonneville (born January, 1985) is a Portuguese performance and visual artist.

He completed the Acting Course at Academia Contemporânea do Espectáculo, Porto in 2003. In 2006, he completed the Visual Arts Course by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (Lisbon). In 2008, completed the course Falar da Vida - (Auto)Biographies, Life Stories and Artist's Lifes (Lisbon).

Since 2001 he has performed in various shows in collaboration with António Lago, Francisco Camacho, Carlota Lagido, Rogério Nuno Costa, La Ribot and participated in many workshops in the fields of Contemporary Dance, Video, Creative Writing and Visual Arts.

Since 2003 he presents performances, installations and videos, in Portugal and abroad, namely in Estonia, Germany, Poland and Spain. In 2006 he began the performance project ‘Miguel Bonneville’, presenting it throughout art galleries and international festivals.

In 2007, he participated in the artistic residency ‘The Arts Site’ at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, in the context of the Cultural Forum The State of the World. This residency invited twenty artists – from visual arts to drama – coming from different countries, to develop new projects. The ‘MB – Family Project’ was created in this context – it is an ongoing project about the concept of family.

From 2003 on he regularly participates in various musical projects, mainly focused on the electronica genre. In 2007 he began his solo electronica project: BlackBambi. BlackBambi has composed original soundtracks for two short movies and is already preparing his third project for film. He is also the lead singer of the rock-electronic band Ur Ma.
