Michalis Andronikou
Michalis Andronikou (born 1977 Limassol, Cyprus) is a Greek composer.
Life
He graduated from the Department Of Music Studies, University of Athens, Greece. He also holds a Diploma in Classic Guitar, Clarinet and Music Theory from Trinity College London, and the Royal Academy of Music, and a Diploma in Byzantine Music from the Argyroupolis Municipal Conservatory. Michalis gained a degree in Harmony, Counterpoint, Fugue, and Music Composition from the Hellenic Conservatory. Moreover, he studied Greek folk INSTRUMENTS such as Constantinople lute, tampoura, bouzouki, tzoura, baglama. Currently, he is a PhD candidate (ABD) at the Music Department of the University of Athens, and a PhD student in composition at the Music Department of the University of Calgary.
Michalis has composed music for various media, themes for theatre plays, solo piano, for small and large ensembles, songs. He has released four albums. The score of his “Latin suite” is published by the Bulgarian Company Balkanota.
In 2005, he was awarded in an international competition of composition, which took place in Volos, Greece. He is a member of EMSE (Greek Union of Composers and Songwriters) since 2005.
