Michéal O'Shea

Micheal O'Shea is a 2007, Dublin Blue Stars award Recipient and a Gaelic football player with St Vincents.

Football

Micheal started his playing career with Castlegregory, in Kerry. After an impressive season with UCC in 1999, Micheal was chosen on the Irish Universities team in 2000 1.

After his appointment onto the St. Benildus College staff, Micheal was snapped up, for an undisclosed fee by St Vincents, GAA club on the northside of Dublin. St Vincents, scout Alan Costello saw a lot in Micheal's ability and Alan's vision was justified when Micheal, helped the club claim the Dublin and Leinster championships after a barren spell of 24 years. 2

The group of esteemed journalists at Dublin's, Evening Herald, chose Micheal in midfield, in recognition for his great performances in the 2007 Dublin championship. 3

Future

After Micheal's fantastic displays in the Dublin Senior Football Championship, speculation is RIFE that Kerry manager, Pat O'Shea, will call Micheal onto the panel for the 2008 championship. There are others who feel that Micheal is worth his place on the Dublin team, to replace the aging Shane Ryan. Some say that Micheal's fluency in Irish, could be the deciding factor, so he can do even more InterViews on, the Irish language television station, TG4.
