Michael Olu

Michael Jeremy Jide Olu (born 14 May 1995) is an English young amateur footballer who currently plays for Leyton United Football Club in the Cheshunt Youth League. A small full back defender, Olu usually plays a full back role left or right.

Childhood & Background

Born in Munich, to British Nigerian parents Julianah & Desmond Olu. Olu is an German born, British raised originated Nigerian. Olu attended Southwold Primary School, Hackney East London and then attended Lammas Sports School, Leyton but left in 2008 and currently attends Hackney Free Parochial Secondary Church of England School in Hackney. He started playing football at the age of seven years old and broke through to The Primary school football team at the age of nine, and then later on became captain of his primary school at the age of 11, his last year at primary school.

Olu enjoyed playing football at a young age and after primary school, he went on to join the year 7 football team of Lammas, which he played there for 2 years at a right-back defending role. He then also went on to represent his second school Hackney Free Parochial Secondary Church of England School in 2008 and 2009 also playing a fullback role and defensive and central midfield role.

Olu is currently in year 10 and lives in Hackney, London with his parents and his family, with one brother and two sisters.

Club Career

Homerton Rangers (2004 - 2006)

Olu signed for Homerton Rangers, a small football club run by local coaches around Clapton in 2005 - 2006. Olu did not really established himself. After all he was the most smallest and youngest player in the team. He hardly got any chances to play and struggled to cope in training and also in matches. He later then left in 2006.

Shoreditch Youth (2008 - 2009)

Olu trained and was on trail for Shoreditch Youth, but failed to sign for them due to age regulations of the league, because of his age. He then left early in 2009.

Leyton United FC (2010 -

Olu then signed for Leyton United FC in Janaury 2010 and currently plays for Leyton United. He started his first game on Sunday 24th January 2010 in a league match against Carpenters U15, which Leyton United FC won 5 - 3.
