Career
High School
McClearn attended Valley Central High School, in Montgomery, New York. He always excelled in sports, mostly football and basketball.
College After his strengths playing high school football, McClearn received a full scholarship to Temple University which has a Division 1 football program.
USFL McClearn was a territorial draft pick for the Philadelphia Stars in 1983, when they won the 1983 USFL Championship game against the Arizona Wranglers.
NFL McClearn was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 1983 and then finished up his career with the Washington Redskins.
Coaching
After retiring from the NFL, McClearn decided to continue his involvement in football by coaching an offensive line position for a semi-pro football team in his hometown for 12 years, The Newburgh Raiders. He led them to the Divisional championship game 3 times and his team won all 3 times. McClearn continued into the Empire Football League coaching the offensive line for the Tri-State Bull Dogs. Currently McClearn is still involved with coaching the offensive line of the New Jersey Revolutions which is a Division 3 Arena football team.
