Micah Dailey-White
Micah Dailey-White is a singer-songwriter and producer based in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He first gained traction via his short 6-second long comedic skits on TikTok.
Early Life
Micah Dailey-White was born in Las Vegas and moved to California when he was 7 years old. He lived in Compton / San Pedro for 4 years but moved to Riverside, California with his aunt and uncle. Micah grew up in a Christian household and his parents weren't as enthusiastic AbOUT rock and hip-hop than what they deemed 'safer' genres such as motown, soul and pop. Micah used to go to an after school program with a computer lab and during activity time, Micah would go on Soundtrap and Make Music using a computer keyboard instead of a MusicAL keyboard since the school didn't have one.
Introduction To Kalamazoo
Micah first found out about Kalamazoo through the Posse Foundation, a scholarship program that he was a part of at the time. The Posse Foundation chose the Kalamazoo College for him. He was introduced to the Kalamazoo music scene via an artist that was in Kalamazoo College called Headband Henny. Henny booked Micah his first ever performance at Sounds of the Zoo which was a festival dedicated to the Kalamazoo music scene.
Social Media Career
Micah got his first phone from his aunt and he used it constantly. He originally wasn't allowed to use social media because he was way too young and it had no restraints at that time. On April Fool's Day in 2016, He decided to use his phone and upload his videos on Vine.
After Vine shut down, he tried uploading his skits on Instagram but it wasn't until December 2020 when he made his TikTok account with the username Oltre. Micah picked that name because it meant 'beyond' in Italian.
Musical Career
Micah published his first song 'Who's A Sad Boy?! (Puppy Heartbreak!)' on SoundCloud when he was 15 years old. Micah has talked about his first song in some of his InterViews one being 'It has some strengths and weaknesses.' and another of him saying that it was bad. In 2021, he first started releasing music on Spotify under the name Oltre. he released his self-titled EP in 2021 and released an album in 2022 but both didn't have any traction. In 2023, Micah changed his artist name to Oltre to Micah Dailey-White. From there, he released his first single with Headband Henny called 'One On One (Remix)'. He released his album 'Micah.' in 2024 with some songs on his previous album 'Dentro'. He recorded most of the songs on the album in a temporary homeless shelter. The album originally had no traction but when he first gained popularity on TikTok, his audience started to discover that he also makes music and it exploded in popularity.
