Metro (supermarket, Egypt)

Metro is the leading supermarket chain in Egypt.

Metro Markets was established in 1997 as a division of Mansour Manufacturing and Distribution, part of the Mansour Group (owned and managed by the Mansour family), a leading diversified private sector conglomerate in Egypt.

The first outlet was opened in 1998, and Metro now has a major warehouse and about 20 retail outlets. The stores are modern and stocked with a wide variety of products but focusing primarily on groceries.

Now Metro Markets in Egypt owns more than 2 major warehouses and 29 retailer outlets spread in six governorates.

Metro Markets has received various awards pertaining to its upstanding services and hygienic conditions. Some of the awards include the Century International Quality Era Award at the International Quality Convention held in Geneva in 2001. In addition to awards given by Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS) and Superbrands for two consecutive years.
