Corporate history
Founded in 1989, MERA Systems is a privately owned corporation with offices in Canada and Russia. The company has been involved in international software development services since 1993. It is one of the first companies that entered the market of session border controllers (sbc) and VoIP softswitches. MERA Systems develops VoIP softswitching and lawful interception solutions. As of 2009 the company has over 800 customer deployments in 76 countries worldwide including the emerging VoIP markets of Central Asia, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and the CIS countries. As of July, 2009 MERA Systems employs over 400 software developers.
MERA Systems has 2 offices - management of customer relations in Toronto, Canada and production facilities in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia
Product Portfolio
MERA Systems product portfolio is subdivided into two categories:
- Class 4 softswitches (MVTS II, MVTS Pro) for wholesale business feature routing, including LCR (Least Cost Routing), and billing capabilities;perform SIP, H.323, SIGTRAN/MGCP support and conversion. These products perform collection, switching, transcoding and billing of VoIP traffic being responsible for both signaling and media data streams processing and border access control.
- Class 5 softswitch (MERA IP Centrex) for retail business are aimed at being the core switching point for business telephony and at delivering Value Added Services (VAS) to end-users. This product is used both by service providers that deliver telephony services to end-users and by enterprises that build VoIP telephone network for their own use.
The company also develops lawful interception products (NetBeholder) for security sector: Law Enforcement Agencies, National Security Agencies, Intelligence Agencies, and Military. These products perform detection, monitoring, storage and analysis of information circulating over IP networks – web, email, Instant Messengers, VoIP.
