Melason In Love

Melason In Love is a Filipino reality series that follows the story of Pinoy Big Brother: Double Up contestants Melisa Cantiveros and Jason Francisco. It started broadcasting on ABS-CBN on February 22, 2010. It features behind the scenes footage after the PBB Big Night and few of guesting programs in all ABS-CBN shows.

It is considered as the first spin-off show of Pinoy Big Brother, and is advertised as the first "Reality Serye".

As a spinoff

As part of the show's concept, Pinoy Big Brother: Double Up's Big Five housemates were told to stay in the House for a few more weeks. The series focuses on Jason and Melisa, who entered into a relationship during Double Up. Over the course of the series, scripted or simulated situations would be presented to Melisa and Jason in a bid to test their relationship in light of their newfound popularity after Pinoy Big Brother.

Although the Big Five housemates are still inside the house, the Pinoy Big Brother rules were no longer put into effect. The housemates themselves would leave the house from time to time to appear in ABS-CBN's shows.

Theme song

The theme song used on the show is Melai and Jason's cover version of You are the One by Serenity.

"Melason" portmonteau

The name "Melason" is a tabloid-style, portmonteau nickname the two housemates developed in the early stages of the Double Up season. It is also a play on the phrase may lason ("there is [an amount of] poison"), hence a bottle of poison shown in a title card in reference a task involving the two, as well as other references to poisons and poisoning in general. A clear example of this is the tagline of the show, "Dahil toxic ang pag-ibig" (Because love is toxic).
