McCall Smokejumpers

The Bakersfield Roughnecks were a junior Junior A Tier III ice hockey team based out of Bakersfield, California.

History

On October 13, 2021, the USPHL accepted the Bakersfield Roughnecks as an expansion team for the Premier Division for the 2021–22 season. While the ownership group and initially wanted to begin a year earlier, their plans were delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic. This was the area's first junior team since the Bakersfield Jr. Condors relocated 11 years earlier. After a solid sophomore season, the club declined in its third year and missed the postseason. That offseason, the team relocated to McCall, Idaho and became the smokejumpers.
