MBCGame HERO (usually shortened to MBC or HERO) is a professional South Korean e-Sports team owned by the company MBCGame. MBCGame HERO focuses mainly on the strategy game StarCraft: Brood War.
History
Formed in late 2002 as Pirates of Space (POS), HERO started off as a small progaming team in Korea. As StarCraft evolved as a mainstream sport in South Korea, HERO would eventually pick up its first sponsor, EGOSYS in 2005. As more players arrived to the scene, the large broadcasting channel MBCGame would eventually give a permanent sponsorship to HERO in early 2006, giving them reliable financial backup.
