Mayan Island

In the fictional Macross universe, a small island located somewhere in the South Pacific. Its inhabitants (who apparently speak French) maintain a simple life style and have a strong hold to their shamanistic traditions, centered around ancient ruins and artifacts. Unbeknownst to them, these ruins are in fact the relics of The Ancient space faring race known as the Protoculture and hold great power. This exposure embroils them in U.N. Wars against their will.
