Mauricio Pita

Mauricio Pita (born June 20, 1985) is a Venezuelan stage actor and singer. Pita began appearing in theater productions and music festivals in the mid 1990s.

Early life

Pita was born in Baruta, Caracas and grew up in the suburban city of San Antonio de los Altos in Venezuela. Pita's parents were born in the island of Madeira Portugal, Pita's mother Ines Goncalves is a painter and his father works for the helicopter manufacturer Sikorsky Aircraft. In 2002 Pita moved to Bridgeport in the U.S. state of Connecticut.

Career

Pita appeared in several music festivals of Venezuela like the Canta Claro music festival in which he won first place representing his city at the age of 10. At this competition he was noticed by the mayor and governor and got invited to several other competitions representing his town, after moving to Connecticut, Pita got interested in acting and theater that made him pursue a career in theater and was seen in 2007 community theater production of Fiddler On The Roof at the The Gary-The Olivia Theatre at the Abbey of Regina Laudis which was built thanks to the influence of former actress Dolores Hart and Academy Award Winning Actress Patricia Neal. He was also seen in the Warner Theatre (Torrington, Connecticut)'s production of Chicago (MusicAL) as Bernie, and was recently cast as Igor Newerly in The New Zenith Theatre stage reading of Korczak's Children.
