Maulana Mumtaz Ahmad Ashrafulqadri Mubarakpuri
Ustazul Ulma Hazrat Allama Alhaj Maulana Mumtaz Ahmad Ashrafulqadri Mubarakpuri is a distinctive, leading and distinguished Islamic scholar of national and international fame. He delivers lectures and speeches on almost all major contemporary issues in various national and international conferences, seminars, gatherings and specially organized programs by institutions and Mosques.
He is a great theologian, an impressive preacher and reformer, a good philosopher and a political thinker, certainly a speaker with extensive experience of Islamic Law, Fiqah, Qur'an and Hadith. He is a thunder against the evil forces of Islam and an exploitation and a compassionate zephyr for the mankind. In addition to this he is an outstanding and renowned poet too.
His Life
Ustazul Ulma Hazrat Allama Alhaj Maulana Mumtaz Ahmad Ashrafulqadri Mubarakpuri was born on 10th February 1938 in Mubarakpur in the district of Azamgarh, Utter Pardesh (UP) India. From the very beginning of his childhood, he was under careful and able guidance of his father Hafiz Abdul Haleem Sahab Qibla who himself was a well known spiritual, sublime and divine personality.
He studied his A'Alim course (study of Islamic Law, Qur'an, Fiqah and Hadith etc.) at Al-Jamiatul Ashrafia Mubarakpur under the supervision of an eminent and acclaimed A'Alim, reformer, preacher and very noble person Huzoor Hafiz-e-Millat Alayhir Rahma who was known for his piety, virtuousness, devotion, honesty, simplicity and humanitarianism.
Huzoor Hafiz-e-Millat Alayhir Rahma was one of the few beloved, talented and competent successor and disciple of the great reformer, scholar, theologian and theosophist Hazrat Sadrus Sharia Rahmatullah Ta'ala Alayhe who wrote the world's most famous and incomparable Islamic encyclopedia "Bahar-e-Shariat".
After his graduation, he started teaching at Al-Jamiatul Ashrafia at an early age but as and when demand occurred he went around India to accomplish the responsibility of teaching, preaching and reforming the Muslim community. Few to mention are Bombay, Gujrat, Basti,Khalilabad, Gayazila, Saharanpur and Gonda.
His Contributions
It wouldn't be wrong to mention here that in many places with the help of the local people he built and established a Madrasa from scratch in order to facilitate the religious education and preaching amongst the Muslim. Even today some of those Madras's exist and are continuously Providing Islamic education to Muslim children.
While he was in Gujrat some local residents who were living in England heard his passionate and stimulative speeches were very impressed by his quality, knowledge and ability. Consequently, in 1972 he was invited to London. As usual he made relentless and persistent effort very enthusiastically to awake awareness and preach Islam amongst Muslim community in the United Kingdom.
He regularly delivers speeches in conferences and congregations. As mentioned before he is a praised poet too, and has written many Na'at and Hamds. He has also been writing books plus articles for newspapers and magazines on the various subjects and aspects of Islam.
He is one of the very few people who initially laid the foundation of the World Islamic Mission, UK Organization and played a vital role in its establishment. He is a permanent senior member of the Islamic Sharia Council UK.
