Matt McCoy (Worship Leader)

Matt McCoy (born 19 July 1985) is a songwriter, worship leader and a Christian musician. His latest studio album "Raise the Flag Again" was released on March 27, 2008 with Radiant Records. Currently serving as a worship leader at Willow Creek Community Church, Matt has written many songs being sung by churches today, such as "What If", "Revelation Generation", "Treasure", "It's Your Kindness" and "One Thing". Growing up as a pastors kid, he has been involved with the Vineyard Church Movement most of his life. He has also had some MusicAL involvement with Vineyard Music USA.

Since 2001, Matt and his band have travelled leading worship for many christian youth conferences, retreats, camps and other events. He has shared the stage with artists such as Sanctus Real, Shane & Shane, Jeremy Riddle, John Reuben, Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, Tim Hughes, Delirious, Family Force 5 and Vicky Beeching.

Matt released his first solo project in 2006, "Walking It Out", which was later followed by another EP, "Arise". In early 2007, he made his first debut with Vineyard Music Group on the Club 62 project. Early 2008, Matt's song "One Thing" was released on Vineyard Music Club 63, "Brighter Day". In 2008, "Raise the Flag Again" was released. He is currently working on his latest full-length album, due for release fall 2009.

Also in 2008, "Song of the Redeemed" was selected for a national CD release by Indelible Creative Group, Indieheaven.com and Word Records Distribution. The compiliation, Top 20 Indie Worship, was released on Nov. 4, 2008.

Currently Matt lives in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 2008 in Electronic Media. He currently serves as a worship leader at Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, IL.

Matt has been known to play an instrument known as a theremin in his sets.
