Marshall White

Marshall White (6'3", 290 lb, born on April 30, 1982)is an American Professional Strongman athlete from Port Angeles, Washington. Marshall was born and rasied in Houston, Texas and now lives in Port Angeles, Washington with his wife Rachel, whom he married in 2005. Marshall is a Mortician in addition to being a professional athlete. Marshall is considered to be one of the world's best in the Atlas Stone event. Marshall's goal is to become the World's Strongest Man.

Strength Sports

Marshall's interest in strength athletics started at a young age, when his parents purchased a small gym in which he would work and "tinker" with weights.

Marshall then went on to play football for his junior high and high school as most young men do in Texas. His senior year of high school was when he took his "interest" in strength to a whole new level. He hooked up with a long time family friend named Floyd Wilder in order to become what he wanted to be…a Strongman.

Marshall set a foundation for himself by competing in powerlifting, while at the same time continuing to train in Strongman disciplines. He focused on school and finally graduated, then decided it was time to start on the path to become a professional Strongman.

Marshal then joined "The Unit", a Strongman group in Cypress, Texas headed by longtime friends and great Strongmen Roger Ortmayer and Travis Ortmayer (members included Jim Glassman, Josh Thigpen, Jason Hehr and Tim Trahan).

After training with "The Unit" for a year, Marshall applied for a job which would place him in Washington.

He initially trained at Marunde Muscle with World Strongman competitor Jesse Marunde, and The Sequim Crew (including Breck Gault, Jacob Miskimens, and John "Sarge" Allen).

It was in Washington state that Marshall would set the wheels in motion in order to become a professional in one year's time. He accomplished this goal on April 30th, 2006.

He has since competed in many pro shows including 2006 professional nationals (7th place) and a few international shows. He is known for his very fast and strong stone loading, but he is very proficient at every discipline.

Marshall currently trains with Jacob Miskimens in their own facility.

For 2008, Marshall was invited to compete in the World's Strongest Man Super Series, which is a qualifying tour for the World's Strongest Man Competition.

In January of 2009, Marshall competed in the Fit Expo in Pasadena,California winning the crucifix hold on his way to a 4th place finish. In 2009, Marshall purchased the La Quey Funeral Home in Pagosa Springs, CO.
