Marnie Pulumbarit

Marnie Pulumbarit, one of the female directors of her generation, is a rare breed, being one of the few women directors of GMA 7. She has done independent work for BBC Films Ltd as well as Comguild Productions up and coming movie, Banal, which is an official entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival this December 2007. When asked during a press conference, "What makes you unique?" She says, "Im not showbiz!" This cracked the press and after then offers for her to direct movies came to be. Known for her bubbly, free-spirited and organized way of directing, we know that this lady director will go a long way. Her mentors in the industry are Directors Mark Reyes, which she fondly calls Master, and Raymond Red. Direk Marnie began her career on television when she joined the GMA News Team back in 2002 where she met her soon to be hubby, News Reporter Jiggy Manicad. After a year or so, she went back to film school at the premiere University for the Arts in London, at Goldsmiths College, University of London where she fine tuned her skills in Film and Television Directing. After being offered to do 2nd unit directing job for GMA's Love to Love, Direk Marnie went back to Manila. Next came Atlantika and LuvPow. Now she is currently working on two other movies to be released for 2008 and the other for 2009. "Im living my dream!" says Direk.
