Biography

Mark Fuller started his career as a photographer's assistant and lab technician working for Lord Snowdon and Patrick Lichfield.1
After a brief spell as a band manager he went on to run gigs and events and then opened the hugely successful Embassy Club2 in 1983 on Old BOND Street. The venue closed three years later, by which time it had become a regular hang-out for stars including Boy George, George Michael and Elton John.
In 1999, he founded the Sugar Reef Bar & Grill in London's West End. This created a partnership with Jimmy Lahoud and Marco Pierre White and led to the White Star Line Group being formed.
In 2000 they opened the Red Cube Bar & Grill in Leicester Square. Former Michelin-starred chef Gary Hollihead was appointed executive chef of both venues, which became two of the most popular nightspots in London.
In June 2001 they sold Sugar Reef and Red Cube to Chorion for £7.5m, and the directors went their separate ways.
As they worked so well together, Mark began a partnership with Garry Hollihead in November 2001 and they opened Embassy London.
In February 2003 they joined forces with Iron Maiden manager Andy Taylor, chairman of Sanctuary Music Group to form Concept Venues and went on to open Inn on the Green in Cookham Dean, Berkshire. This is a fine dining restaurant designed to provide an ideal retreat from City life.
They also bought and refurbished upmarket fish and chips restaurant Geales3 in early 2007.
The trio then embarked on their most ambitious project yet, opening the five star, £10 million boutique hotel Soho Sanctum in March 2009. The private members' hotel has 30 bedrooms and nine suites.
