Marilyn Duggar

Marilyn Duggar (born April 6, 1954 in Fairbanks, Alaska) was recognized by her home town of Nenana, Alaska in February 2007 for her community service. Marilyn is the president of the Nenana School Board, presides at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and manages Nenana’s (pop. 700) general store.

Marilyn is the wife of Ty Duggar, formerly of Anchorage, Alaska. Marilyn has two daughters: Morgan and Taylor. Marilyn is the daughter of Robert A. (Sr.) and Gladys Coghill and the niece of John (Jack) and William F. Coghill.

Marilyn manages Coghill’s Store which was founded by her grandfather William A. Coghill, a pioneer who hiked into Interior Alaska from Valdez in 1904. He opened the store in 1917. Marilyn’s father Robert managed the store for his mother (Winifred) and brothers after the death of his father until his own death in 199-. Marilyn has been the manager of the store since that time.

Marilyn serves as president of the Nenana School Board, a position held by her father and uncle in the past. In addition, her brother, mother, grandmother and several in-laws served on the Nenana School Board in the past.

Marilyn was ordained a deacon in the Episcopal Church in 2007. She has long served as the principal lay reader at St. Mark’s Church. Her father, Uncle Jack and brother Bob preceded her as lay reader at St. Mark’s. Marilyn is the first in her family to be ordained.
