Mariam Yahaya

Mariam Yahaya (born on 9 June,2010) is a Nigerian football player who plays as a forward. She has played in the Nigeria women's national under-17 ( also know as Flamingos) and has also plays in the club football in the Nigeria Women Football League.

Early life

Mariam Yahaya was born in Nigeria and her passion for football began at an early age. She started playing for grassroots football programs and youth teams including the Edo-based side Fortress Ladies, where she gained recognition for performing as a young striker. Her development through youth football helped her gain attention from national team selectors and Nigerian football administrators involved in youth talent development.

Club career

Yahaya has played club football in the Nigeria Women Football League and has joined in several football competitions mentioned in Nigerian sports media. She has appeared for clubs including FC Robo in the NWFL. She has notable individual performances in the league, she scored in a match where FC Robo defeated Rivers Angels 3–0, contributing to the club’s push for qualification for the league’s Super Six playoffs. She also scored a hat-trick in a match where Robo Queens won over Benue Queens.

International career

She has played for the Nigeria women's national under-17 football team (Flamingos). She was mentioned in the squad selected by coach Bankole Olowookere for the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Before the tournament, she scored a hat-trick in a friendly match against Paraguay as the Flamingos prepared for the competition.She also played in a domestic youth competitions involving the national team, and in the football event at the National Sports Festival were she scored the winning goal for the Flamingos
