Margaret Wilcox

Margaret A. Wilcox, (born 1838, Chicago, Illinois invented a combined clothes and dishwasher machine.
Career and major contributions
She was granted multiple US patents for her inventions. On November 23, 1893, she was granted a patent for "certain new and useful Improvements in Car-Heaters": the rail car heater consisted of a combustion chamber located under the rail carโ€™s boarding platform, and pipes to transmit hot water. She has been incorrectly described as having "invented the first car heater". Wilcox's other patents include a combined clothes and dishwasher, bake pan, and a heater, which she invented in collaboration with Harry S. Stewart and patented August 8, 1905.
