Manithara is a place situated in Thrissur district of state kerala (India). The distance from Thrissur district to Manithara is 13 km. There is a temple named "Sree Panorkavu Bhagavathy Kshetram". The temple belongs to Manithara mana and the family members of manithara mana are the patron of this temple. Three main Gods (two Goddess and One God) are there, which are Sree Nanadurgadevi, Sree Badrakali devi and Sree Vetekaran respectively. One additional God Bramharakshass also there. many devotees are came hear to get peace and wealthier life. The main feature of the sreekovil is it have many holes on the roof so every time in in monsoon the Goddess idol wet with fresh natural water. The word meaning of nanadurga is, Durga devi lives in natural shower of rain (the idol is always wet with rain water in monsoon. There is a festival on February 12 or 13th which may vary depends on astronomical calendar. In the festival the procession carry out with three elephants (one with colam and thidambu) and drums (chenda melam). Thalam, kala kali, dances of peolple disguised with Goddess dress also subsequently carry out. The peoples from manithara made a committee, which is administrating the festivals and daily things. Formerly late Krishnan namboothiri was makes deifical things now this doing by his younger son Vishnu namboothiri.
