Mala Suerte

"Mala Suerte" is Maya & Miguel's very first episode that aired on October 11, 2004 on PBS Kids GO!.

The Episode starts when Maya, Miguel, and their parents are getting ready for their day. Miguel's book report got lost in cyberspace while he was trying to print it, Maya's blow dryer broke down on her, Rosa's cooking was burned and Santiago's suit was torn. Abuela Elena explains that they have bad luck and that they need to be careful. Maya is at school later talking to her best friend Chrissy when her papers start to fly. Then Maggie grabs the papers and explains all the wonderful things that has happened during her day. She had received an A on her test, her sister lent her her favorite sweater and she had her work hung on the walls. Maggie explains that the reason that she has such good luck is because she has done a Chinese redecorating called Feng Shui. Maya had been so impressed that Maya had wanted to do it as well. Maggie, Chrissy and Maya went to Maggie's house to borrow her grandmother's books, and afterwards they head quickly to Maya's apartment.

Meanwhile Maya's twin, Miguel was playing soccer with Maya and Miguel's cousin named Tito. Miguel and Tito were convinced to help Maya because Maya claimed that Miguel had muscles. Meanwhile Maya's father was downstairs to see the person that owned the business of the pet shop which was Senior Maldonado. While Maya, and Miguel were fixing the apartment Maggie had to go home so Chrissy had helped Maya with the Feng Shui. Meanwhile Tito and Miguel had went downstairs and had accidentally put a boa constrictor in Miguel's father's bag. Meanwhile Maya and Chrissy were doing the last touches on the apartment. All things go bad and everything ends up a mess. Maya and Miguel figured that if they changed everything differently then they would have better luck. In the end Maya and Miguel learned that good luck or bad luck they still have their family.
