Maklan, Yemen

Maklan, Yemen is a small city in the rural mountains of Yemen. There is an airstrip which is the only access expect for a small dirt road. The city has a Police department whose chief is Farhan Mohamed Obaid. It is located Latitude: 13° 49' 60 N, Longitude: 44° 53' 60 E. The Maklan people are mostly sedentary, subsistence farmers with very little exposure to modern society. The main and possibly the only religion is Muslim. The city has a one classroom school run by the mosque. Maklan has a police station but no official fire station. The city is split in to a southern and northern half with farmland dividing them. Maklan is located in the central highlands which is an extensive high plateau over 2,000 meters (6,560 feet) in elevation. This area is drier than the western highlands because of rain-shadow influences, but still receives sufficient rain in wet years for extensive cropping. Diurnal temperature ranges are among the highest in the world: ranges from 30 °C (86 °F) in the day to 0 °C (32 °F) at night are normal. Water storage allows for irrigation and the growing of wheat and barley.

There is a store called Hile on the main street on the southern half of the city, the owner is Akram Maklan you can call them at 5852783804, They are open from 8:00 to 11:00 every day. Only closed during prayer.

Masjid al-rahmah

The Masjid al-rahmah Islamic community center is located on Alkarya street. You can call them at 967-833486 and are open 12:15-01:00: Friday, for Jumua'ah Prayer.
