Make Believe (film)
Make Believe (film) is an upcoming fantasy/thriller movie directed and written by Christian Hall, May Yin Kwok and Eruchi Chinda. After being in production since September 2009, the film is slated for release in October 2010.
Plot
After spending many years as an unsuccessful author, Michael Marcarbe decides to visit a mysterious gypsy who has the power to grant wishes. As promised, the gypsy grants Michael his wish, however with every wish granted, a curse is also made. Months pass and the authors luck has changed; his most recent published book has been his most successful yet. However his life takes a sinister turn when the murders within his horror novels are mysteriously being played out.
Production
The film began production in September 2009 when Christian Hall completed the final script. The film was made by CemCtk films for nu films studios. Producer May Yin Kwok personally attended casting sessions and insisted that Eruchi Chinda play the films antagonist, mysteriously known as 'The Gypsy'. As well as playing the film's antagonist, Chinda worked with Kwok and Hall to help the development of her character. In October 2009, filming began mainly in Woolich, greater London.
Alternate Endings
In november 2009, all Principle photography was finished and editing soon went underway in order to produce the film. During the filming, more shots were used, sometimes with different scenes or parts of the script. Due to the vast amount of material, the production team had a lot to work with.
In an official statement released by nu films studios, Christian Hall and May Yin Kwok have said that several endings to the film have been made. Not much was said in regards to what will actually happen, however Eruchi Chinda commented on the endings whilst attending an awards event in January 2010. Chinda was quoted as saying
Rumours that have been circulating the internet suggest that nu films will release up to three of these versions in cinemas; audiences will be able to chose which version they wish to see if cinema's have multiple screenings. Nu films have neither confirmed nor denied these rumours.
