Major (band)
Major is a British pop music girl group formed in 2012 comprising sisters Irene and Elsa Major. Irene and Elsa are from Cameroon by way of Paris and have backgrounds in modelling, television and film.
To date they have released five singles:
- "Love Me Boy" written by Pete Kirtley
- "Romeo" written by Pete Bellotte and Sylvester Levay
- "Birds" written by Irene Major
- "Cannes Cannes Cannes" written by Pete Hammond and Jeff Chegwin
- "Umqombothi - African Heroes" original version composed by Sello "Chicco" Twala and Attie van Wyk and made famous by South Africa's Yvonne Chaka Chaka, new lyrics in Major's version written by Irene Major
A further single is expected ("Daddy Cool") and other singles can be found on their YouTube channel.
Major toured the UK in 2013 and appeared on the X-Factor in 2014.
Major is promoted by PHA Media.
Major Talk and TV Appearances including X-Factor
Major has a YouTube based show called Major Talk the episode of which are on Major's YouTube channel. Major have had various appearances in Africa. Major are participants in The X Factor (UK series 11) (2014) and have made it through to the six-chair challenge at bootcamp - the final 28 contestants.
