Maharashtra Engineering Service
Maharashtra Engineering Services abbreviated as MES are the civil services that meet the technical and managerial functions of the Government of Maharashtra. Like most states in India, the Government of Maharashtra recruits its civil servants and officials on the basis of merit, the middle management positions in the bureaucracy are filled through competitive exams. Large number of candidates take these exams, competing for limited posts. MES officers are selected by the Maharashtra government on the recommendations made by the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC). A combined three-stage competitive examination, called the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) is conducted by the MPSC for recruitment to the Maharashtra Engineering Services.
Electrical Engineering
1. Maharashtra Engineering (Electrical) Services
The engineers recruited in this cadre work in Water resource department, Public works department and Energy Department Of government of Maharashtra. Thsese engineers May Be deputed to defense service by President of India. Main responsibilities:-
● Construction of Hydroelectric Projects
● Construction of Lift Irrigation Schemes
● Electrical Inspection
● Electrification of government buildings
Civil Engineering
1. Maharashtra Engineering (Civil) Services
The engineers recruited in this cadre work in Water resource department, Public works department and Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran department of government of Maharashtra. Thsese engineers may be deputed to defense service by President of India. Main responsibilities:-
● Construction of roads, bridges
● Construction of Large, medium, small dams
● Construction of Lift Irrigation Schemes
● Construction of government buildings
Mechanical Engineering
1. Maharashtra Engineering (Mechanical) Services
The engineers recruited in this cadre work in Water resource department, Public works department and Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran department of government of Maharashtra. These engineers may be deputed to defense service by President of India. Main responsibilities:-
● Construction of Lift Irrigation Schemes
● Jalyukt Shivar works
