Madelyn Toogood
Madelyn Toogood is an American of Irish Traveller roots who became known nationally when a videotape showing her slapping and punching her four-year old daughter, garnered national media attention in September, 2002.
She plead guilty to child endangerment, and was sentenced to a one year term of probation, a fine of $500, and a suspended sentence of one year in jail. She was arrested again in November, 2002, for giving a false name and address when she applied for a driver's license in Michigan.
