Lyndsay Pace
Lyndsay Pace, the Maltese 17-year old singer, performer & song-writer from the locality of Swieqi, Ibragg and born on the March 12th, 1990 is known to be such an outstanding, confident and outgoing teenager who takes great interest in anything that has to do with the arts of music. At the moment, Lyndsay’s attending Sixth Form and is currently studying and concentrating on the profession of communications, television as well as the media world.
Lyndsay’s passion for music had always been in her heart since she was a little child and thus she always carried the natural abilities in having such good presence and personality on stage. She’s that type of person who always takes a challenge, speaks her mind and is not afraid to be her true self. Generally speaking, she began her singing career at a tender age of 10 years old were she had taken vocal lessons from many professional teachers and is currently taking Speech Level Training from Heather Baker at the Mediterranean Vocal Studio. Her main genre mostly includes commercial sounds like pop, rock and ballads but she tries to be as versatile and as flexible as possible in her style to try and capture the whole plot of the audience. Her influences include some of the famous and top artists such as Madonna, Kelly Clarkson, Anastacia, Robbie Williams and Mika.
In the past few years or so, Lyndsay has taken part in several music activities were she managed to show off her good qualities and achieve positive results. In fact, she took part in a variety of local festivals, T.V. programs such as Talent Zone and Ma’ Gaffiero 2006 were she won 1st place amongst the other 20 participants in the category, The Baystreet Talent Competition “Star To Be” 2006 were she won 1st place and was also rewarded as the Overall Winner with many grand prizes, the popular challenge of “L-Isfida” 2006 (the Maltese version of Pop Idol), hosted by Claudette Pace were she managed to make it through with the finalists from around a 100 applicants, The XFM Competition “Virtual Rockstar” 2007 were she had placed 4th amongst the 20 finalists and also she had been invited for a number of times to be present on T.V. as well as radio stations in order to enhance promotion and plenty of exposure.
Having said that, Lyndsay also took the “Starter Pack” course during the summer holidays, organized by Malta’s leading media crew, Where’s Everybody were she was greatly thought to strengthen and improve her talents. During her time there, she had the opportunity to work on a brand new single and music video with the help of a high-skilled team. The song, entitled as “The Truth In Me”, written by Lyndsay herself and music by Paul Abela had also been a stepping-stone of success for her since she had made it through with the first 35 songs chosen from 228 other songs in the “Malta Song For Europe 2007”, being that it was her first time to enter in this massive competition.
In early 2007, Lyndsay was chosen to be part of the “Taking Gender Equality to Local Communities” Project in which Paul Abela had composed the music & Joe Julian Farrugia had written the lyrics of all the songs, including Lyndsay’s Maltese single “Toqghodx Lura” and the theme song “Different and Equal” which is sung by all the established local singers involved. Basically, this Project aims to create awareness among ordinary citizens about the difficulties and limitations that gender roles and stereotypes create in everyday activities by means of the media.
Moreover, Lyndsay continuously tries her best to bring out the right elements towards the music industry and is also working on some new songs to gain more success and popularity in the nearby future.
