Luka Veselinović
Luka Veselinović (born March 20, 1977) in Rijeka, Croatia is a bass player and composer.
Education
After studying on Faculty of Humanities and Social sciences in his hometown, Luka Veselinović received a scholarship from Berklee College Of Music and went then to Boston. He had some of the top Berklee teachers like Terri Lyne Carrington, Darren Barrett, Tiger Okoshi...
In addition, he attended many jazz seminars and masterclasses in Croatia and Europe, where here he had a chance to learn about music directly from Eric Harland, Anders Jormin, Franco D'Andrea and others.
Career
During studying in Boston he recorded his first album “Magnetic Whale” and started a music project called “Veselino jazz Project”.
In 2004 he moved to Zagreb and started to perform on many music festivals with different musicians and groups including Marko and Dalibor Matosevic with whom he recorded a jazz album called "Labyrinth", published by Croatian major label Dallas Records, featuring some of the top Croatian jazz musicians like Matija Dedić, Sasa Nestorovic and Kristian Terzic. Soon after that, he began to perform and collaborate with many others like Tamara Obrovac, Darko Jurkovic, Kruno Levacic, Borna Sercar, Oleg Kireyev, Marko Lazaric, Denis Razumovic, Vojkan Jocic, Branko Sterpin...
In 2005 he started to play with the famous Croatian pop singer Massimo Savić.
Luka Veselinović currently lives in Croatia and frequently plays at the VIP Jazz Club of Zagreb.
