Luiz Filipe Coelho
Luiz Filipe Coelho (born November 14, 1984) is a Brazilian violinist.
Biography
He began his violin education at age 4 in Escola Fukuda de São Paulo, having as a teacher the violinist Elisa Fukuda. At age 12 won awards in several national competitions in the cities of Juíz de Fora-MG, Piracicaba-SP and Rio de Janeiro-RJ. At age 16 during the 32nd Winter Festival of Campos do Jordão Luiz Filipe was granted with a scholarship by the State of São Paulo and later received a 4 year scholarship granted by Vitae Foundation to continue his education in Berlin, Germany where he still lives.
In Berlin was a student of violinist Ulf Wallin in Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler ” Berlin and later in the Royal College of Stockholm in Sweden. In 2004 was a student of the violinist Zakhar Bron in the College of Music Pitea, Sweden.
In 2007 studied with the spalla of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, the Israeli violinist Guy Braunstein, at Universität der Künste Berlin, where graduated in the 2008 class of violinist Axiel Gerhardt.
Between the year of 2007 and 2008 had a Karajan-Akademie fellowship in the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra where had the opportunity to play in concerts with some of the most accomplished conductors like Simon Rattle, Daniel Barenboim, Seiji Ozawa, Pierre Boulez.
At the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben competition of Hamburg received as a temporary loan a rare violin made by the luthier Lorenzo Storioni, Cremona, 1774, which he still plays.
Recorded in 2008 a CD with the some of Bach’s work with the Berlin Academic Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of the conductor Reinhard Goebel in this recording Filipe was the soloist of Bach’s Double Violin Concerto.
Also in 2008 he made the first DVD recording of the Three Concertos for Violin and Orchestra by the Brazilian composer Camargo Guarnieri with the Symphonic Orchestra of the city of São Paulo conducted by Lutero Rodrigues.
