Luis Schäfer

Luis Schäfer (born 5 February 2007) is a German professional footballer who plays as a centre-back and left-back for Regionalliga Bayern club Bayern Munich II. He is a former German youth international.

Club career

Schäfer is a youth product of his hometown club ASV Dachau, later joining the youth academy of Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in 2017, where he progressed and eventually captained the under-19 team.

He received his first call-up with Bayern Munich II during the 2025–26 season on 1 April 2026, during a 1–0 away loss Regionalliga Bayern match against SV Wacker Burghausen, as an unused substitute however. The following month, he made his professional debut and with Bayern Munich II, substituting Kurt Rüger during a 1–1 home draw Regionalliga Bayern match against VfB Eichstätt, on May 8 2026. Schäfer made his second appearance with Bayern Munich II, substituting David Heindl during a 5–0 away win Regionalliga Bayern match against Viktoria Aschaffenburg, on 16 May.

International career

He represented Germany at the under-16 level in 2022.
