Luci (light)
Luci (light) is a LED rechargeable lantern powered by sunlight. The device is inflatable, collapsible, and waterproof, and comprises of 10 LED white lights with several settings. The solar-powered artifact became part of a joint campaign with Direct Energy to provide access to lighting to various rural areas around the world that lack access to electricity.
History
In 2012, MPOWERD Luci (light), an inflatable LED lantern rechargeable by solar light. The lantern charges 6 hours of sunlight and is able to provide 6 to 12 hours of light.
In February 2017, Direct Energy partnered with MPOWERD. The companies donated 18,000 Luci lights to numerous NGOs including Kids of Kathmandu, the Abundant Life Foundation, A New Course in Guatemala, and others.
The company also provided numerous lanterns for relief efforts in Puerto Rico, Mexico, southeast Asia, and various other countries. In November 2017, The Builders Fund LP acquired a part of MPOWERD.
