LTH-Baas is an international shipbuilding and ships conversion contractor for cruise, Ro-Pax, navy and merchant vessels operating worldwide.

The company is headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia. Additionally, there are subsidaries in USA (LTH-Baas North America LLC), Germany (LTH-Baas GmbH), France (LTH-Baas SAS), and Italy (LTH-Baas S.r.l.).

History

LTH-Baas was founded in 1998 and traces its roots to back to 1934, when “Ships Technical Maintenance Base” (Laevade Tehnilise Hoolduse Baas, LTH Baas) was found in Tallinn, Estonia.

The company specializes in complex technical retrofit projects, newbuildings’ outfitting projects, refit and refurbishment, and ship repair around the world. LTH-Baas performs cruise ship technical repairs, turnkey retrofits, newbuild outfitting and implementation of decarbonization initiatives. In 2022 LTH-Baas launched the HEMOS initiative, which transforms how ships manage their heat energy through the use of sophisticated calculation models and dynamic optimization techniques. The initiative promotes the goal of increasing cruise ships’ energy efficiency.

LTH-Baas has successfully completed numerous ‘turn-key’ ballast water treatment system and scrubber installations, fuel supply system upgrades, Advanced Waste Water Treatment system installations, and many other complex technical retrofit projects during dry-docking and in operation worldwide.

LTH-Baas work on retrofit and new-build projects includes notable ships from operators like Disney Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean International (RCI, formerly Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, RCCL), MSC Cruises, Holland America Line, Carnival Cruise Line (CCL) and others.

LTH-Baas celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2023.

The company has been steadily growing over the last years. The revenue in 2024 was 110 mln EUR, 2025 - 170 mln EUR.

In 2024 LTH-Baas was selected to complete a large portion of the Disney Adventure newbuilding completion project in Wismar, Germany. The project provided employment to 1000+ LTH-Baas shipbuilding professionals over two years.
