Lásse Kvernmo

Lásse Kvernmo (born August 12, 1981 in Tromsø, Norway) is a Sámi songwriter, journalist and actor. He is known for his collaboration with guitarist of Guns N' Roses, Richard Fortus. His debut album, Iron Curtain will be released in the first quarter of 2013.

Kvernmo grew up in Tromsø and Karasjok, Northern Norway. He has an older brother and a younger sister, and is the son of a doctor and psychiatrist.

He began his musical career while studying in South Carolina, USA to become a pilot. During his studiees, he sent some songs to Richard Fortus of Guns N 'Roses via his website. This formed the basis for their collaboration on the project "Sáivu" that they performed at the Midnattsrocken in Lakselv (2010).

Sáivu comes from Sami mythology and was the paradise of the Sami people after death. In Sáivu deceased people survived in the same way as on Earth, only much happier.

Kvernmo also contributed lyrics to artists Ivvar and Mari Boine, and has also worked as a reporter for NRK Sápmi.
