Loyola High School is a Jesuit school situated in Pune, India. Founded in 1961, the school educates boys from standard 1 to 12. The school has some of the best academic and sports facilities of any school in Pune. Classrooms are spacious and well ventilated, the library is huge and an excellent resource for students, science and computer labs are equipped with the latest equipment. The auditorium has a full stage, lights, and balcony seating. Sports facilities include a full length swimming pool, diving pool, kiddies pool, basketball courts, volleyball court, football and hockey grounds.
One of few schools with a 400m Olympic size track for athletics and a swimming pool too. The swimming pool was completed in 1971 after a set of floods had afflicted Pune.
History
The school was set up in the early 1960s. Rev. Fr. Schoch, SJ, had dreamed of the site where the school now is, and requested the National Chemical Laboratories, (whose land it was) to set up the school. Land was released on lease, and turned out to be one of the most memorable institution building experiences amongst schools in India, as evidenced in the ELSA souvenir for the school's Silver Jubilee in 1986-87. The interview with the late Rev. Fr. Schoch, SJ therein is most revealing of this spirit..

Alumni Associations
The Ex-Loyola Students' Association (ELSA) headed by a Chartered Accountant, Shirish Padey, did yeoman's service for over a decade arranging for career seminars, inter-school quiz competitions, sponsoring the school magazine and even arranging for the school's 25th year celebrations. Today Elsa stands inactive due to Mr Padey's relocation out of the city of Pune, rather than alumni inaction, and the ELAN Ex-Loyola Alumni Network has been formed by another generation of ex-students. ELAN has been active for over a decade now. Organises annual get-togethers for ex students and has its own directory. It is now the official ex students body of the school, ELSA being officially merged to ELAN. ELAN also supports school activities and assists former teachers in many ways. ELAN May Be contacted at elanpune@gmail.com. Loyola celebrates its 50th year from 2010-2011. A new website will be up early 2008 at 1.
