London Centre for Social Impact
London Centre for Social Impact CIC (Community Interest Company) also known as LCSI is an independent London based social enterprise, founded in November 2009. LCSI describes itself as social exclusion and community development think tank.
Activities
- The London Centre For Social Impact provides capacity building to grassroots based community organisations. LCSI support enable them to achieve their full social impact potentiality. LCSI believes that community based social actions are more effectives in both addressing social issues and driving sustainable social change.
- Social Investment Consultancy: LCSI provides advice guidance and orientation to grant makers, philanthropists, and businesses on effective ways and procedures of using their finances to generate sustainable social returns that meet their social investments aims.
- Training: LCSI develops and deliver various training programmes which aim to develop skills, knowledge and awareness necessary to successfully contribute in achieving social changes through various form of social actions.
- In June 2010, LCSI launched the British Grassroots Action Award which is yearly national award that is given to community based organisations that have made significant Social Impact through grassroots based service provision. LCSI considers those organisations as faceless pillars of communities and unspoken backbones of the British society.
Publications
The LCSI publishes works on various areas of community development; grassroots based service provision, social innovation, social entrepreneurship and social exclusion. They maintain a list on their website.
