Lobbycon

Originally from Wikipedia · Preserved by Wikibin
Lobbycon and Lobbyconning are terms used to describe the art of going to a conference without paying and only to schmooze and cut deals in the hallways. By not entering the actual conference area but staying in the hallways Lobbyconners avoid the sometimes hefty admission fees. The phenomenon has become so prevalent at technology events that it has been given a name: lobbycon or lobbyconners for the people that practice Lobbyconning.
