LMS Stanier Class 5 4-6-0 45407 'The Lancashire Fusilier' is a LMS Stanier Class 5 4-6-0 locomotive engine built at Armstrong Whitworth in 1937. It is one of 18 surviving Black 5's.

Withdrawal
This member of the class was one of the final Black 5s withdrawn on 4 August 1968. The late Peter Beet (whose son owns LMS Jubilee Class 5690 Leander) and millionaire David Davis, visited Lostock Hill to choose a locomotive to save. They chose No. 45407.
Preservation
The engine became part of the "Steamtown" collection at Carnforth and was, for some time, painted in Furness Railway red livery, but was later painted in LMS black livery in 1980. It is now back in BR livery and owned by Ian Riley, who also owns BR standard class 4 2-6-0 no. 76079. The engine is based on the East Lancashire Railway and is currently main-line registered.
