List of international cricket five-wicket hauls at the Asgiriya Stadium

Asgiriya Stadium is a sports ground in Kandy, Sri Lanka, which has hosted international cricket matches, along with many domestic and school games. It is the home of the Kandy Cricket Club. It has hosted international cricket matches since 1983 until 2007, the first Test at the ground taking place in between Sri Lanka and Australia in April of that year. and has been home to 22 Test matches in total. Asgiriya Stadium has also staged 6 One Day International (ODI) matches, the first of which was in 1986 when the host Sri Lanka lost to Pakistan by 8 wickets.

In cricket, a five-wicket haul (also known as a "five-for" or "fifer") refers to a bowler Taking Five or more wickets in a single innings. This is regarded as a notable achievement. The first bowler to take a five-wicket haul in a Test match at Asgiriya Stadium was Venkatesh Prasad in 2001; he finished with bowling figures of 5 for 72 in third innings. Muttiah Muralitharan currently holds most five-wicket hauls more than any other on this ground with 9 five-wicket hauls. The best figures in Test cricket at Asgiriya Stadium are 7 for 94, also taken by Muralitharan against Zimbabwe in January 2002. Muralitharan also took the last five-wicket haul at Asgiriya Stadium, with figures of 6 wickets for 55 runs against England in 1 December 2007. Until Asgiriya Stadium abandoned from all international matches, seven bowlers have taken seventeen Test match five-wicket hauls at the ground.

There are no any ODI five-wicket hauls taken at Asgiriya Stadium until last ODI on 16 December 2001.
