This is a list of English language words of Slovak language origin:

Dobro: A contraction of DOpyera BROthers, U.S.-Slovakian immigrants who invented the instrument in 1928; also from Slovak dobro "the good"

Robot : from Slovak robota "work/drudgery", coined by Czech writer Karel Čapek (1890-1938) in his R.U.R. (Rossum's Universal Robots), source: 1. It is, however, widely assumed that the word was of Czech origin.
