List of clubs and societies of Beijing International Studies University
The Beijing International Studies University features a wide range of student societies and interest groups. Most of them are established by individuals of same interests and hobbies, supervised by the Students' Community Association (SCA BISU). Application for setting up new societies is open to all BISU students.
Language and culture
- English Communication Association (ECA, ).
- European Culture Association, colloquially Ou Feng She (), established in 2007, aims at promoting intercultural communications.
- CKSCA, the Chinese-Korean Students Communication Association.
- The Cantonese Club Yue Yu She (), a cultural society for learning Cantonese language and culture.
- The Traditional Chinese Culture Appreciation Society Guo Xue She (), a place for fans for traditional Chinese culture. The society holds regular seminars for literature appreciation and poetry readings. Activities also includes introducing ancient Chinese music and INSTRUMENTS, traditional constume Han Fu and so on. On traditional Chinese festivals, members will have the chance to take a day-trip to historical sites, or they will be provided traditional Chinese cuisines, pastries and beverages along with relevant historical stories, customs and literary and artistic works on events hold by the society.
- Lan Ting, the Calligraphy and Chinese Painting Society (). The Society was named after the symbolic image in Chinese culture, the Orchid Pavillon ().
- The Traditional Chinese Art Society (), aims at promoting the art of Xiang Sheng (cross-talk) and other forms of Chinese folk art.
- The Tea Appreciation Society Ming Cha (), aims at promoting the Chinese tea culture.
Community engagement
- BISU Volunteers () under CCYL BISU.
- Lv Xie, Association for Green Environments (), an independent student society committed to spreading awareness for environmental issues on and off campus and to promoting events for greener, sustainable environment.
- Ai Xin Zhi Dian, or Warm Hope Volunteering (). The members regularly visit nursing homes and organise tutoring programs for children at migrant schools or those with disabilities.
- HeartLanguage (), a society for learning Chinese sign language. Members also volunteer at the NPO Beijing Sullivan Rehabilitation Centre.
- Red Cross BISU (), helps the blood-bank to promote blood donation, holds seminars on mental health and first-aid training, organises fund-raising programs for areas hit by natural disasters and delivers volunteering teams to NGOs addressing autistic children care.
Leadership development
- AIESEC BISU, independent organisation aiming at developing leadership and visionary thinking among University students.
- MUN Society under the School of Law and Politics, aiming at promoting further understanding of the United Nations Organisation, international issues, and the Global Community through organising Model United Nations initiatives.
- Junior Achievement under the CCYL BISU, branche of JA China, the Junior Achievement China ().
- Careers Center, affiliation of the Student Career Office BISU. Career operates under the SCA and supported by CCYL BISU.
Sports
- The BOMBERS, BISU's NFL flag football club. In 2010, the Bombers was named division champion and national runner-up in the NFL China University Flag Football League.
- Soccer Club BISU, organising Annual Student Soccer League among schools and faculties in March or April, or with other universities like the Communication University of China.
- Baseball Clovers, the baseball club.
- Badminton Club, Tennis Club and Ping-Pong Club under the BISU Student Union.
- Pao Ke, Runner BISU (), the athletics & running club financed by Nike China. The Runner organises the weekly running groups and supports the annual marathon race Beijing Marathon. Members have the chance to attend sports party events hold by Nike China.
- Wu Lian, or BISU Association of Martial Arts (BAMA, ), a student society for learning free combat, hapkido and taekwondo. The society also provides training programs for belly dance and hip-hop.

- BISU Charming Voice, known as Chao Ming (), the dubbing society for voice acting.
- The Compass, known as Si Nan (), is an interest network for drama and stage play established in 1998.

- Business Negotiation Club, a debating society focusing on business negotiations. Host of the Business Negotiation Contest BISU.
- IIMA, the International investment & Management Association (), established under the School of International Trade and Economics.
- Mystery Society, usually known as Tui Xie (), established by fans for detective stories, hosting events like Scavenger Hunt, Room Escape and Werewolf (or known as Mafia), organising seminars on mystery literature and competitions on logical puzzles like sudoku.
- The September, a computer interest group holding events like electronic sports, speed typing contests and seminars on PhotoShop and other software.

- SSS Bicycle Touring Society, established in 2004, known as Che Xie ().
