List of characters in Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight
The characters of Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight are very varied. They include the inhabitants of the Earth, the monstrous inhabitants of the alternate dimension Ventara, and the Kamen Riders who can exist in both.
Kamen Riders
The Kamen Riders were the chosen defenders of the "mirror world" known as Ventara. With the exception of Wing Knight, they were all killed (referred to as being "Vented") in battle with Xaviax when one of their own (the original Dragon Knight) betrayed them and their Advent Decks were stolen. Since the Decks were designed to work with only one person, each deck only functions again when given to humans on Earth that are "mirror twins" of their Ventaran counterparts, with matching DNA. To access the powers, the chosen deck wielder holds the Advent Deck carrier in front of them to activate a burst of energy that CREATES a belt holder for the deck while calling out the words "Kamen Rider". The deck is then inserted in the belt and spins, further activating a pair of rings that surround the bearer and creates the armor for the specific Kamen Rider. Each Kamen Rider has a special sense that can detect Mirror Monsters and other Kamen Riders (an effect nearly similar to a Highlander's ability to sense other Immortals nearby). The decks also give the Riders the ability to travel from one place to another instantly by travelling through any mirror or reflective surface and traversing the mirror world to end at their intended (or at times unintended) destination(s), be it in their Rider armor or human form.
The Kamen Riders will be assisted by their own Advent Beast. Once a Mirror Monster is confined, it forms a Contract with the Rider who captured it. The Advent Beasts support their human partners through the Advent Decks, usually appearing when a Final Vent is used. Should the Advent Deck be destroyed or damaged in combat, the Advent Beast and its owner will disappear to the Advent Void.
The Riders use their powers (via the cards) to battle either the Mirror Monsters or each other. Each card can be slotted into a device the Rider wears to access a "Vent" attack or ability such as Sword Vent, Strike Vent or Copy Vent. Each Rider has his own deck designed for that Rider only, even if a Rider slots a card belonging to another Rider, it still goes to the card's owner rather than the one who slotted it. Each Rider possesses a card to summon their respective Contract Monster (Attack Vent) and another card for their Final Vent, a devastating attack that involves using the Advent Beast's power to finish off their opponent and "Vent" them (it does not necessarially mean that they will be vented though they may still receive massive amounts of damage). A vented Kamen Rider and Advent Beast are sent directly to the Advent Void, a world between the mirrors where they are trapped and are never seen again. Xaviax purposely tricks several matching humans into joining his side, while others oppose him. Among this show's Kamen Riders are:
Kit Taylor
Kit Taylor is a young adult who lost his father when he was a boy. Since then, he has been framed for many "misunderstandings" and has gained a reputation as a thief. He was placed in a foster home until he turned 18. From there, he makes his way to the apartment he spent his childhood in and found an Advent Deck that opened his senses to the presence of the monsters abducting people. He gains the ability to transform into Kamen Rider Dragon Knight armed with the dragon Advent Deck that he obtained. He would later meet Len (Kamen Rider Wing Knight), with whom he agreed to help fight Xaviax's monsters in the hopes of finding his father. He did so after failing to heed Len's advice AbOUT re-establishing the Contract with the Advent Beast associated with the Deck, Dragredder, by activating the Contract Card in the Deck and fully reactivating his Dragon Knight armor powers. He nearly got duped into helping Drew (Kamen Rider Torque) before his true motive is revealed. After discovering the truth about the Advent Decks, it is speculated that Xaviax probably played a part in his past to allow him to become Dragon Knight (most likely related to his thefts and/or his father), but failed to recruit Kit on his side.
Interestingly enough, so far he's the only Kamen Rider who had to find his Advent Beast (or more specifically have his Advent Beast, Dragredder, find him) as opposed to the other Kamen Riders who were all given their Advent Decks with their respective Advent Beast already in place and Contracted to them (the exception is Len who was one of the original Kamen Riders and the only Kamen Rider not separated from his Advent Deck and Advent Beast in the battle on Ventara). This May Be due to the fact that the original Dragon Knight betrayed the other Kamen Riders and in turn broke the Contract with Dragredder sometime afterward, causing the Advent Beast to turn on its master (had he been Vented, the Contract would have still been ACTIVE, but both Dragon Knight and Dragredder would have been sent to the Advent Void).
Dragon Knight has a very wide range of moves, most involving his contracted Advent Beast Dragredder, as well as a varied set of Advent Cards making him relatively balanced in terms of potential combat ability. However, he does not have any trick based Advent Cards like Camo's Clear Vent or Sting's Copy Vent or possess a Personal weapon like Wing Knight's sword or Torque's gun. However upon his first transformation into Kamen Rider Dragon Knight (before he and Dragredder Contracted), Kit did access a Sword Vent card and called for a sword which shattered due to his Dragredder-less power status from the original's Contract breaking.
Dragredder
A red mechanical Japanese dragon which is Dragon Knight's Advent Beast.
Dragon Knight's Advent Deck
- Attack Vent: Summons Dragredder to directly attack his opponents.
- Sword Vent: Summons a dragon designed broadsword. Without the contract, it was a normal katana that broke easily.
- Strike Vent: Attaches a dragon-like gauntlet on his right hand to shoot a burst of flames, assisted by Dragredder.
- Guard Vent: Attaches dragon-like guards on his arms.
- Final Vent: Summons Dragredder for Dragon Knight's Final Vent. It consists of him jumping into the air, delivering a flying side kick powered by Dragredder's flames.
Len
Len is a mysterious figure who is fighting Xaviax's monsters who has the ability to transform into Kamen Rider Wing Knight armed with a bat Advent Deck. He is aloof in personality and tries to keep the Riders' existence a mystery from the public. His Advent Beast is Black Wing, a bat. He is one of the original Kamen Riders from Ventara prior to their betrayal by his friend Adam, the original Dragon Knight. At first, Len didn't want Kit to get involved with his problems or becoming Dragon Knight. But once Kit used the Advent Deck, they agreed to defeat Xaviax and save Kit's world. Len and Kit are slowly developing a close friendship, possibly due in part to Kit being the Earth counterpart of Adam.
Kamen Rider Wing Knight is a close-range fighter possessing two swords (his default rapier which also allows him to slot Advent Cards, and his Sword Vent, a large lance-like sword). Because of this, he is better suited for one-on-one combat. Wing Knight can also use his Trick Vent to create copies of himself to aid him in combat to overwhelm stronger opponents or even out a battle involving multiple enemies.
Black Wing
A giant mechanical vampire bat which is Wing Knight's Advent Beast.
Wing Knight's Advent Deck
- Attack Vent: Summons Black Wing to directly attack his opponents.
- Sword Vent: Summons a lance like sword.
- Trick Vent: Creates several copies of Wing Knight.
- Nasty Vent: Creates a loud noise emitted by Black Wing.
- Guard Vent: Uses his cape as a shield.
- Final Vent: Summons Black Wing for Wing Knight's Final Vent. It has Black Wing fly onto Wing Knight's back, its wings becoming a cape as it locks into place. Wing Knight then jumps into the air, coming down as his cape spins around him like a drill that allows him to pierce through his enemies
Richie Preston
Richie Preston is a son of a rich family. Richie becomes Kamen Rider Incisor armed with a crab Advent Deck when Xaviax assumes the guise of Walter Connors and tells him that he was cut off from his family fortune. He is given a false promise of a million dollars for each Rider he defeats. Richie acquires the Incisor Advent Deck and Advent Beast Volcancer. When the Final Vents of Incisor and Wing Knight collide, Wing Knight proves to have the more powerful Vent and Richie disintegrates due to being vented by Wing Knight, causing him and Volcancer to disappear into the Advent Void and be the first Kamen Rider to be Vented in the series. Wing Knight then retrieves the Incisor Advent Deck.
Kamen Rider Incisor uses his pincers to attack adding another one with his Strike Vent.
Volcancer
A mechanical humanoid crab which is Incisor's Advent Beast. When Kit as Kamen Rider Dragon Knight first encountered it, he thought it was a wild monster until Kamen Rider Incisor shows up.
Incisor's Advent Deck
- Attack Vent: Summons Volcancer to directly attack his opponents.
- Strike Vent: Attaches a pincer on his right hand.
- Guard Vent: Attaches on his left hand (combined with his visor).
- Final Vent: Summons Volcancer for Incisor's Final Vent. It has Volcancer spring Incisor into the air for a spinning attack.
Drew Lansing
Drew Lansing is a con-man selling a supposed multi-purpose phone when the cops appeared outside of his shop. When exiting out the other door, he was approached by Xaviax in human form who shows him Ventara. Drew is well aware of Xaviax's plans, but helps him to take control of the world in hopes that he can become his second-in-command and becomes Kamen Rider Torque armed with a minotaur Advent Deck. Drew tried to convince Kit that Len was the one who stole the Advent Decks from Xaviax, but Kit wasn't convinced at first. Drew transformed and drove the Black-Headed Zebra away, convincing Kit during his fight with Len. He and Len ended up fighting each other following an attack by the Red Boar monster. Drew used his Final Vent in an attempt to take down Len but failed. He also berated Kit for failing to aid in the destruction of Len as well as Camo, leading Kit to begin to doubt his friendship with him and whether or not Drew was truly on the side of good. When Maya left a message on Kit's answering machine saying that Drew was lying, Drew attempted to distract Kit by traveling to the scene of the fight, where Drew ended up fighting Camo. He ended up venting Camo, revealing his true intentions to Kit in the process, but Len repelled him before he could vent Kit. This action led to Drew no longer trusting Xaviax who became angry at him for having Camo interfere. After Drew left, Xaviax told Kamen Rider Strike that Drew is a loose cannon. Drew later encounters Brad and tries to recruit him into attacking both Kamen Rider Wing Knight and Xaviax. After failing to "recruit Brad", he is confronted by James and the Newt Monsters when Xaviax caught him scamming against him.
Drew is later seen on the run from Xaviax and eventually meets up with Kit as he tries to convince him to band together. Kit rejects his proposition as they both fight each other. Kit gets the best of Drew, who continues to run as he recalls how he got involved with the whole Kamen Rider war in the first place. James catches up to Drew and challenges him. With a full house, Drew activates his Final Vent which hits every everyone in the area. Though they all survive Drew's Final Vent, Kamen Rider Thrust is severely injured by the attack, and is vented shortly after. Drew is attacked by Kamen Rider Strike twice, who hunts him down and vents Kamen Rider Torque, making him the 4th Kamen Rider to be Vented. The news of this later reaches Len via the Kamen Riders' ability to detect other Kamen Riders.
Kamen Rider Torque is a long-range fighter, having a default gun which doubles as a slot for Advent Cards. His Launch Vent consists of shoulder cannons and his Shoot Vent summons a larger hand-held cannon.
Magnugiga
A giant minotaur robot which is Torque's Advent Beast.
Torque's Advent Deck
- Attack Vent: Summons Magnugiga to directly attack his opponents.
- Launch Vent: Attaches shoulder cannons on him.
- Shoot Vent: Summons a large hand-held cannon.
- Guard Vent: Summons a green mechanical shield.
- Final Vent: Summons Magnugiga for Torque's Final Vent. It opens its chest compartments (revealing missiles) and lowers its leg cannons as Torque connects his gun to its back, and delivers a devastating barrage of missiles and lasers, causing a large explosion in the surrounding area.
Grant Staley
Grant Staley is a devious underground martial artist who cheats in his karate fights which he does against his sensei. Grant was recruited by Xaviax in the form of Race Mattock to take on more challenges as Kamen Rider Camo armed with a chameleon Advent Deck given to him by Xaviax. He ran into Kit and Drew and fought them before being hit by Torque's Launch Vent. As Kamen Rider Camo, Grant used his Clear Vent to turn invisible and escape. He ran into Drew and Kit again where Grant and Drew engaged each other in battle. He ended up being sent to the Advent Void upon being hit by Torque's Final Vent. Thus, he was the 2nd Kamen Rider in the series to be Vented.
Kamen Rider Camo's main ability is his Clear Vent which allows him to cloak himself, mostly to escape danger and to attack unnoticed. He also has a Copy Vent which allows him to copy other Rider's Advent Cards and use their attacks and weapons as his own (similar to Kamen Rider Sting, who also possesses the Copy Vent ability).
Biogreeza
A humanoid chameleon which is Camo's Advent Beast. Due to Kamen Rider Camo being defeated quickly, Biogreeza did not appear in the series.
Camo's Advent Deck
- Attack Vent: Summons Biogreeza to directly attack his opponents.
- Clear Vent: Camo becomes cloaked.
- Hold Vent: Summons a yo-yo like weapon.
- Copy Vent: Copies the last Advent Card slotted and obtains a copy as if it was his own.
- Final Vent: Summons Biogreeza for Camo's Final Vent (Camo never uses one during his time in the series but its assumed he has one). It has Biogreeza wrapping his tongue around Camo and swing him towards an opponent where Kamen Rider Camo grabs the enemy and slams it head first into the ground.
James Trademore
James Trademore, referred by his nickname as JTC is a hacker and UFO specialist who is wanted by the US government for stealing some of their files. He was approached by Xaviax who reveals himself to be an alien to James. James joined up with Xaviax to be on the winning side as Kamen Rider Strike armed with a cobra Advent Deck. When Xaviax found out that Camo and Torque were fighting each other, he ordered Strike to send Thrust to take care of Wing Knight. Kamen Rider Strike then oversaw the fight between Wing Knight and Thrust, until a fight between Torque and Camo occurred. In Brad's flashback, Strike was summoned by a disguised Xaviax to show Brad the kind of power he could have by joining Xaviax's club. Strike demonstrated this power by easily destroying two of Xaviax's Newt monsters. He is later revealed to be the man who has been contacting Maya and providing her with special top-secret information, regarding the missing people incidents and the Mirror Monsters. James would eventually show up in person to visit Maya. Under the scheme of Xaviax, Maya will lead the other Kamen Riders to Sting, believing that he will think they are aliens and vent them. He is later sent by Xaviax to fight and Vent Drew for his disloyalty. He even went after Kit who managed to evade him.
James later engaged Drew in battle. Though he is hit by Drew's Final Vent, Strike survives and uses his Final Vent to send Kamen Rider Thrust to the Advent Void. He and Venosnaker briefly engaged Kamen Rider Dragon Knight and Dragredder before leaving. James later took on Drew again. James counter Drew's Final Vent and then uses his Final Vent to send Drew to the Advent Void.
Kamen Rider Strike is a close-range fighter armed with a cobra-like scepter and is cunning in battle.
Venosnaker
A giant mechanical cobra which is Strike's Advent Beast. Like Dragon Knight's Dragredder, Strike often involves his Contract Monster Venosnaker in the fight using Venosnaker's acid to melt away cover.
Strike's Advent Deck
- Attack Vent: Summons Venosnaker to directly attack his opponents.
- Sword Vent: Summons a spiral sword.
- Final Vent: Summons Venosnaker for Strike's Final Vent. It launches Kamen Rider Strike to deliver a devastating bicycle kick.
Brad Barrett
Brad Barrett was originally a motocross player who was banned from motocrossing for a cheating scandal that he did not commit. He was approached by Xaviax in the form of Charlie Feathers, giving him a false promise to clear his name if he defeated the other riders in a "tournament" called Battle Club as Kamen Rider Thrust armed with a rhinoceros Advent Deck. Under the orders of Xaviax, Strike sent him down to eliminate Wing Knight. He ambushed Len following the Green Shark monster's retreat, leaving after he witnessed Camo being vented by Torque. Upon recapping past events, Brad takes an interest in Dragon Knight after he refused to fight him while dealing with Newt Monsters. He later baits Dragon Knight into helping him with a squid monster which he easily destroyed before he attacks him to get answers about the "Battle Club". Though he did get confirmed info about the Advent Void and then left. Brad later encounters Drew who tells his side of Xaviax and tries to persuade him to take down Kamen Rider Wing Knight and Xaviax. Xaviax confessed to Brad who still had the proof of the setup and gives Brad the option to vent or be vented. Len and Brad engaged each other in battle again afterwards. Kamen Rider Thrust was taken down, but Wing Knight couldn't vent him. Kamen Rider Thrust retreated.
In the next battle with Len, Kit and Chris tried to get Brad to work with them against Xaviax during the time when Brad was using the Confine Vent to negate the other Vent Moves. After recovering from Drew's Final Vent, Kamen Rider Thrust's is sent to the Advent Void by Kamen Rider Strike's Final Vent, thusly becoming the 3rd Kamen Rider to be Vented in the series. Len then grabs Kamen Rider Thrust's Advent Deck. Strike believed that Brad would eventually come around and join Kit and Len.
Kamen Rider Thrust relies more on brute strength more so than the other riders. But his more powerful ability lies in his Confine Vent which allows Thrust to negate The Effects of other Advent Cards like Dragon Knight's Sword Vent and Sting's Final Vent.
Metalgelas
An armored humanoid rhinoceros which is Thrust's Advent Beast.
Thrust's Advent Deck
- Attack Vent: Summons Metalgelas to attack his enemies directly.
- Strike Vent: Summons a horn-like weapon.
- Confine Vent: Negates the last Advent Card slotted.
- Final Vent: Summons Metalgelas for Thrust's Final Vent. Metalgelas carry Thrust with his Strike Vent weapon out as it pierces his enemies in a charging attack.
Chris Ramirez
Chris Ramirez was originally supposed to be a Marine, like his father, to uphold a family tradition (four generations of Ramirez have been marines since WWII). Unfortunately, he was discharged for having asthmatic complications that would endanger his life as a soldier, leading Chris and his fathers' relationship strained. He was later approached by Xaviax in the form of Special Agent Simons who gave Chris an Advent Deck und er the assumption that he is fighting evil aliens from another dimension as Kamen Rider Sting armed with a stingray Advent Deck. Meanwhile, JTC shows Maya pictures of Chris in Kamen Rider form when he appears to her in person. In attempt to bring Chris into the open, Maya and her friends staged a monster attack with little success. Maya did, however catch Chris in action fighting a Mirror Monster. After destroying one of Xaviax's monsters alongside Dragon Knight, Chris proceeds to arrest Kit under the assumption that he is one of the aliens. They soon notice a fight between Kamen Rider Wing Knight and Kamen Rider Thrust. After Thrust leaves, Chris briefly fights Wing Knight as Kamen Rider Dragon Knight tries to convince him to fight him. Kamen Rider Sting later fights Kamen Rider Wing Knight and their battle continues in Ventara. But an asthma attack leaves Chris defenseless. Kamen Rider Wing Knight shows mercy and does not vent Kamen Rider Sting.
This action sows the seeds of doubt in Chris' mind, and after further urging from Maya, Chris decides to team up with Len and Kit and fight against Xaviax and his evil plans. He helps Kit try to get Brad to help fight Xaviax, but unfortunately Brad refuses to listen. Following Kamen Rider Thrust being sent to the Advent Void, Chris is told about the Advent Void and agrees to help Len and Kit. Chris is brought up to speed when Kit, Len, and Maya tell him about Xaviax and what has happened up to now. After talking to them, he states that they must stop Xaviax at all costs. However, he refuses to help Kit and Len prompting Maya to go after him.
Kamen Rider Sting primarily uses the stingray-like slot on his arm as a shield along with his Swing Vent as a whip. Like Camo, Sting also possesses a Copy Vent which allows Sting to copy other Advent Cards and use them as his own, like Dragon Knight's Strike Vent.
Evildiver
A flying mechanical stingray which is Sting's Advent Beast.

Mirror Monsters
These are the monsters used by Xaviax, normally invisible to those who lack Advent Decks. They serve in dragging their prey into Ventara for Xaviax's research and masterplan. Among the Mirror Monsters are:
- Gold Spider Monster (1-2): The first of the Mirror Monsters Kit encountered, it uses its webbing and legs to grab people and pull them through reflective surfaces and mirrors.
