List of Big Brother 2004 housemates (UK)

There were 13 housemates in total in the fifth series of Big Brother in the UK where they were observed by television viewers 24 hours a day and each week, one or more housemates were voted to be evicted by the general public until the winner, Nadia Almada, was left.

Housemates

Ahmed

Ahmed Aghil is now a successful property developer and has graduated with a degree in law. Ahmed was evicted from the Big Brother house in Week 7. The Jungle Cats were the first to use the word Ahmania short for Ahmed mania, and the ahmania phenomenon exploded and swept Great Britain and beyond. Jade Goody on OK! magazine " I loved Ahmania". Dermot on Heat magazine "Ahmed played a masterstroke. Genius". The Guardian "Ahmania rules".

Becki

Becki Seddiki (born 24 July 1970) is a singer-songwriter from London, with Italian and Moroccan blood. Since Big Brother, Becki has landed a twice weekly radio DJing slot on a radio station in London (from 2006 onwards) and is still recording her music and performing at several gigs all over the UK. Becki was not involved in Fight Night as she was not in the house at that time. She arrived on Day 31, as a replacement for Emma who was ejected from the house due to her disputes with Victor. Becki's time in the house is probably best remembered for the 'Judas kiss' task, in which she was told she had to kiss one housemate on both cheeks, who would then automatically be up for eviction that week. Becki was very upset by this task and unhappily deliberated before eventually choosing Michelle, as she felt she'd be the most likely to survive the eviction. Moreover, Michelle was probably the easiest target to go up to and kiss. However, this was not considered a wise decision, due to her popularity at the time. Becki was evicted from the Big Brother house in Week 6, whilst up for the public vote against Ahmed, less than 2 weeks after she entered the house.

Daniel

Daniel Charles Stuart Bryan (born 3 January 1974) is a hairdresser and DJ from Hull. Daniel announced on the show that he was gay. Dan was not a major participant in the events of Fight Night; he tried to calm Emma and Nadia down, a role which he regularly took when disputes broke out in the house. Dan was GeneRally a popular housemate throughout the shows run with his acerbic wit and memorable one-liners and was evicted on the final night, finishing third to Jason and Nadia.

Never wanting a television career he got straight to work DJing and with his band iceHouse Project after contributing to various television shows post Big Brother. A 28 date DJ tour in late 2004 and Radio road show gigs for the band in 2005 meant more exposure for the multi talented Dan. Dan is still a stylist at Hull's Blow Salon in the trendy Newland Avenue area and iceHouse Project are still going strong after signing new management with Angel Artists. They have a release due for summer 2009 on Loverush Digital. According to Dan he likes to combine all his talents both for music and fashion because he can't live without either. The bands myspace page displays some of those talents. www.myspace.com/icehouseproject

Emma

Emma Louise Greenwood (born 12 October 1983) was formerly an administrative assistant from Oldham, Greater Manchester and had a minor singing career before and after her time in the house. Emma has also been a member of the British Army.

Since leaving the Big Brother house Emma has made various public appearances, as well as appearing alongside former Housemate Michelle Bass on the softcore [...] channel Television X, performing links between clips during the Freeview.

Emma moved into a flat in London with fellow housemate Marco for several months before returning to the army.

In 2006 Emma was voted the fifth most popular housemate of all time losing to BB2 winner Brian Dowling who finished 4th and Fellow Housemates Michelle Bass (who finished 2nd) and Stuart Wilson (who was 3rd) and Nadia who won. She was removed from the house on Day 22 following fight night.

Jason

Jason Cowan, 1 November 1973, in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire. Along with Victor Ebuwa he was credited by television critic Ally Ross as the saviour of the Big Brother franchise for his creation of the 'Jungle cats'. He was the runner-up of the series.

He was obsessed with fitness and trained everyday in the gym lifting weights and running. Jason was given a formal warning after Fight Night.

Kitten

Kathryn "Kitten" Pinder (born 13 October 1979) is a self-proclaimed anarchist, Human and Animal Rights activist. She entered the house on 28 May 2004 and was evicted one week later on 4 June.

After Pinder's eviction, she appeared in court regarding her non-payment of parking fines amounting to £225. She blamed it on debts accumulated whilst being a student due to Tony Blair's education policy. Pinder occasionally appeared on the parallel show Big Brother's Little Brother, also on Channel 4. Pinder moved to Australia with her lesbian lover in 2005.

Marco

Marco Jaye Sabba (born 20 April 1983) was a law student from Kingston University in south west London. Marco has appeared in a West End stage show and, along with fellow housemate Emma, provided a commentary of Celebrity Big Brother UK on Richard and Judy. Marco was involved in Fight Night and was highly provocative to Jason, inciting a menacing stand-off in return. He was issued with a formal warning for his conduct. Brendan Crowley is currently Sabba's Long-term partner.

Michelle

Michelle Bass (born 2 February 1981 in Newcastle upon Tyne) was formerly a mortgage advisor. Michelle and housemate Stuart remained a couple for some time following Big Brother, but eventually split up. She has since featured on Television X, performing links between clips during the Freeview and has participated in photo shoot with the British men's magazine; Nuts.

On The Charlotte Church Show, Michelle appeared with 12 other former housemates in the guess the housemate game where she finally answered Davina's question about her and Stu having [...] under the table. In Week 7 following a string of arguments with Ahmed, Michelle became favourite to win until her extremely possessive streak towards boyfriend Stuart became apparent. As this bordered on the obsessive, many viewers labelled her a bunny boiler and turned against her, although the quiet Stuart seemed to accept that side of her. Michelle along with Ahmed, Dan, Shell and Stuart were the only housemates not to be involved in Fight Night. She and Dan stopped Nadia, Emma and Marco from returning to fight Victor and Jason. In 2006 Michelle was voted the second most popular housemate of all time losing only to fellow housemate Nadia Almada who was first.

Nadia

Nadia Almada (born 28 January 1977) was born as a male on the Portuguese Island of Madeira, under the name of Jorge, but was known as Carlos. Nadia moved to England in 1996 and worked in a department store in Woking, where she lives. She has also managed a children's book store. Before entering the Big Brother house, Nadia worked as a bank cashier. Nadia was given a formal warning after Fight Night.

Nadia's main weakness was for cigarettes, more so than the average smoker. If deprived of them for a day or so, she would frequently collapse into shrieking tempers and wailing irritation, to the chagrine of the other housemates.

The Sun dubbed Nadia the Portugeezer, the "Portuguese Man O' War" and NADS, NADS being a slang term for gonads (testicles) .

After 71 days in the house she emerged as the winner, securing 74% of the overall vote and winning £63,500.

Shell

Michelle Jubin, (born 8 March 1982) works in the arts in New York but an arts student at Glasgow University at the time. She was told of her graduation in the house during a spelling task which she jumped into the jaczzi. Shell seemed to be the most vulnerable housemate; during Fight Night she cried (and fainted) in the bathroom. The argument she had with Victor during the Wedding Task caused Victor to be evicted the day after when originally, Jason was favourite to leave, but the public went against Victor and voted him out, this is one of the only times where the vote swaying from one housemate to another happened in the space of a few hours after an event. She finished in fourth place on the final night.

Stuart

Stuart Wilson (born 28 April 1984) is a student from Macclesfield.

Michelle and Stuart enjoyed a year long relationship after the show, and they attended showbiz parties and covered many articles in glossy magazines. Soon after the sixth series of Big Brother started, it was revealed these two had split up. Stuart was the first finalist in UK Big Brother never to be nominated on any occasion, since then only Big Brother 8 housemates Sam and Amanda Marchent have not received any nominations during their full stretch as housemates. Stuart along with Ahmed, Dan, Michelle and Shell were the only housemates not to get involved in fight night; he restrained Victor from confronting Emma and was pushed out of the bathroom by Jason.

Stuart received the least votes to win and - in a twist - was called to the diary room two days before the final and was evicted. The crowd outside had to remain quiet so the housemates would be unaware that an eviction was taking place.

Vanessa

Vanessa Nimmo (born 12 August 1977) is a former double South African archery champion. She was born in Cape Town but moved to Leeds in 1994. After being on Big Brother, she dated Ben Fogle for a few months. For a while Vanessa did not seem to be involved in Fight Night until she and Nadia had a row leading to her been given a formal warning. Vanessa had been facing eviction in Week 3 with Dan, but due to fight night and Emmas removal, the eviction was postponed until the following week, Vanessa was evicted with 86% of the vote, which was at the time the joint highest eviction percentage in Big Brother UK history - tying with Stuart Hoskings from the second series - this record has since been broken. Nicole Cammack currently holds the dubious title after receiving 94% in the ninth series.

After Big Brother, Vanessa became a glamour model.

Victor

Victor Afanefuma Ebuwa (born 17 January 1981), from London.

On day 57 he was evicted following an argument with fellow housemate Shell Jubin, after which a fan of Victor's sent death threats to Shell's parents' house. Victor was involved in fight night and was given a formal warning.

TV critics, notably Ally Ross (The Sun TV Critic), have credited Victor for saving the Big Brother UK franchise, by stirring controversy and his 'straight talking' attitude towards housemates. The previous year's show had been criticised for being dull, leading to record low viewing figures and a subsequent drop in eviction votes. Viewing figures increased this year to an average of 7 million every night.

Since leaving the house, Victor has appeared on Celebrity Poker Club as well as various other Channel 4 shows.
