List of 2007 Macropædia articles

The Macropædia is the third part of the Encyclopædia Britannica; the other two parts are the Micropædia and the Propædia.

The 2007 version of the Macropædia has 699 articles arranged in alphabetical order over 17 volumes; the articles range in length from 2 to 310 pages, with an average of 24 pages per article. The articles almost always have references and named contributors identified by initials, which are linked to a name in the Propædia.

In many cases, a 2007 Macropædia article is a compilation of several articles written by different contributors; for example, the articles on each of the 50 U.S. states were combined in 1985 into a single 310-page article, the United States of America. (For more information on the 1985 reorganization of the Encyclopædia Britannica, see History of the Encyclopædia Britannica.) Therefore, a typical Macropædia article below corresponds to several pre-1985 Macropædia articles and similarly to several Wikipedia articles, such as those found in a category.

The "Number of Pages" entries below have generally been rounded up to the nearest integer.
