Li Huai Min

Li Huai Min (born 4 August 1992) is a Hong Kong association footballer currently playing for Changi Simei FC in Singapore and plays as a midfielder, but could also play as a striker or centre back. He was a goalkeeper in his secondary school days. Li also had a short stint with Singapore Armed Forces FC COE U-18 as a goalkeeper.

Career

Midfielder Li began his football career at the age of 15, joining youth academy of Balestier Khalsa in 2009. He was promoted to the Prime League team of the S-League club Balestier Khalsa when he was just 17, spending his just one season playing under Salim Moin before leaving the club due to personal reasons. In Prime League, he scored on his debut for Balestier Khalsa against Home United.

On 25 February 2011, he made his first appearance for Balestier Khalsa's first-team that year, as a substitute in a league match against Etoile FC. Balestier Khalsa lost that game 2-0. He scored against Beijing Guoan Talent in a friendly, as well as Woodlands Wellington.

Ended the season with 8 goals and 24 appearances to his name. Eventually, he followed his youth team coach, Sayed Kamaruddin, and joined Changi Simei FC.

Coaching career

In 2012, Li spent two months with Balestier Khalsa as their youth team assistant coach and clinched the runner-up medal after his team lost 3-1 to Home United in the final.

Personal life

Li was born in Hong Kong and his family migrated to Singapore in 1999. He went to Park View Primary School & Chung Cheng High School (Yishun). He is currently a student of Nanyang Polytechnic.
