History

The channel first began cablecasting in 1980 as GTV-3, being seen on cable channel 3, and it used that allocation on Lexington cable until 2017, when it rebranded as LEX TV, and relocated to channel 185 on Charter/Spectrum systems.

Programming format

This cable channel airs over 700 hours of live Council meetings, and 600 hours of original programming each year. Most meetings are broadcast live, but some of them are replayed on a regular basis. A rotating bulletin board with information of city events is also utilized.
